Transient support for PV/wind farm stations

Active and rapid transient frequency/voltage support for photovoltaic and wind farm stations.

Funded by the National Key Research and Development Program of China (No. 2021YFB2400500).

  • Studied the differences and integration between Grid-Forming (GFM) and Grid-Following (GFL) converters.
  • Conducted qualitative and quantitative transient-stability analysis via the Equal Area Criterion (EAC) and Lyapunov functions.
  • Proposed Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG)-based converter stabilization control methods.
  • Verified results through Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) experiments using the RT-Box and PLECS.
